Barry Rowe

Worship Pastor

Barry Rowe, Ed.D., is the Worship Pastor at Thorsby FBC. His responsibilities include giving vision and direction to the entire music ministry as well as planning and leading the worship services.  A nimble leader, educator and administrator with strong problem resolution skills.  Dr. Rowe is an adept multi-tasker possessing the ability to work with teams as both leader and key player while driving initiatives that support the strategic direction of the group he serves.  His education combined with his experience both in the secular world, as well as on the staff of a growing local church offers him a unique blend of applied experience that brings additional value and depth to the teams on which he serves. Barry grew up in Eclectic, and came to know Christ as Savior at a young age. He surrendered to God’s call on his life at a youth conference in Ridgecrest, NC when he was 16 years old. From that time on, his preparation and passion were to serve Christ and His Church with the gifts and talents God gave him and to instill in others a deep desire to encounter the Living God in worship.  Barry has a passion for music in worship that creates an atmosphere in which God’s Holy Spirit can work by incorporating a nice range into each service to meet the people at their point of need.  If you enjoy contemporary, hymns, or praise and worship you will find it in our services!
Prior to coming to Thorsby FBC on April 12, 2015 Barry served churches in the areas of Associate Pastor of Worship & Education, Minister of Music and Minister of Students.  He has served churches in Elmore, Walker, Autauga and Chilton Counties.  A Summa Cum Laude graduate of Andersonville Theological Seminary, Camilla, Georgia, he holds a Doctorate of Religious Education degree. He shares his life with his wife Annette and they have two wonderful children, Shea (who serves our country in the US Navy), and Catherine, a college student.  They have a daughter-in-law, Hannah, and one grandson, Bo!  In his spare time he enjoys reading, traveling, and Auburn Football!  His life verse is: “My mouth is filled with your praise, declaring your splendor all day long.” Ps. 71:8 (NIV)
